1984

  • In May 1984, Fred & Marc Berman purchase the assets of NIMCO Automotive Products in Flushing, NY. NIMCO primarily sold tune-up parts to garages and service stations in northeastern states such as New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
  • Annual Sales: $1,750,000.

1985-1990

  • After quickly relocating from New York to Philadelphia, the company name was changed from NIMCO to Service Champ. Service Champ becomes one of the first companies in the automotive aftermarket to focus on serving the quick lube industry.
  • Service Champ expands by relocating into 40,000 square foot distribution center located in Colmar, PA.
  • Kirk Gustie joins the company as National Sales Manager.
  • Current Team Members Alan Maurer, Anna Marie Edmister, Julie Williams, Debbie Duffy, Kathy Atkinson, Mike Donahue and Pete DiThomas join the company.
  • Annual Sales: $9,000,000.

1991-1995

  • Service Champ relocates into 100,000 square foot distribution center located in Chalfont, PA.
  • Automotive Oil Change Association (AOCA) names Service Champ "Vendor of the Year."
  • Current Team Members Amy Brobst, Dave Everett and Jeffrey Players join the company.
  • Annual Sales: $20,000,000.

1996-2000

  • Service Champ opens 25,000 square foot Southwestern Distribution Center in Dallas, TX.
  • Service Champ opens 25,000 square foot Midwest Distribution Center in Fort Wayne, IN.
  • Jiffy Lube Association of Franchisees (JLAF) names Service Champ "Vendor of the Year."
  • Grease Monkey International names Service Champ "Vendor of the Year."
  • Annual Sales: $39,000,000.

2001-2005

  • Service Champ opens 25,000 square foot Southeastern Distribution Center in Jacksonville, FL.
  • Service Champ opens 25,000 square foot Western Distribution Center in Fresno, CA.
  • Service Champ builds addition to Midwest Distribution Center in Fort Wayne, IN which makes it a total of 37,000 square feet.
  • Automotive Oil Change Association (AOCA) names Service Champ "Vendor of the Year" making it the first time a company has received the award twice.
  • Jiffy Lube Association of Franchisees (JLAF) names Service Champ "Vendor of the Year" for a second time.
  • Service Champ announced its merger in 2005 with Pacific Trend Automotive headquartered in Fairfield, CA. Joining the Service Champ Team are Kevin Gibbons, Rich Moore, Doug Gordon, JJ Lane, Jorge Sanchez, Mike Price, Norm Fegenbush, Ruben Ortega, Sandy Goldsmith and Tim Redelsperger.
  • Current Team Members Bud Sharp, Lisa Black, Lynne Henegan and Lynne Snyder join the company.
  • Total Annual Sales: $75,000,000.

2006-2010

  • Service Champ expands Southeastern Distribution Center in Jacksonville, FL to 35,000 square feet.
  • Service Champ expands Southwestern Distribution Center in Grand Prairie, TX to 39,000 square feet.
  • Craftsman Tool names Service Champ its first automotive distributor of tools outside of their retail network.
  • Service Champ acquires Security Filter Products. The experienced team of Bob Williams, Helene Vaughan, Amy Streich, Bonnie Moreau and Rachel Carson continue to provide excellent service to customers out of the Richmond, VA office.
  • Grease Monkey International names Service Champ "Vendor of the Year" which is the third time we have been voted by their franchisees to win this award.
  • Current Team Members Chris Malkiewicz, Denise Fell and Mitch Maurer join the company.
  • Service Champ is named as a Preferred Supplier to Meineke Car Care.
  • Total Annual Sales: $92,000,000.
